Please be advised, that there will be a planned water shutdown that will result in an interruption to the water service in the community on September 15 at 10:00 pm. As part of the ongoing water treatment plant upgrade project, repair works of an existing valve inside the existing water storage reservoir are required to proceed with construction. The overall system downtime will depend on the nature of the repairs required, but are expected to be complete within 8 hours.
During the service interruption, toilets will not be able to refill, but will still be able to flush. It is recommended that backup water is stored in a pail or bathtub prior to the shutdown to allow for refilling of the toilet tank and continued use of toilets during this time.
A precautionary BWA will be in effect once the water is turned back on, and is expected to be in place for 3 days. Once confirmation of two negative bacteria tests have been received, a notice will be provided on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation website confirming that the BWA has been lifted.
