BON Early Learning Child Care Programs

HISTORY

In 2007, BON amalgamated the community daycare and the Aboriginal Headstart Program and we became the BON Early Learning Child Care Programs.

VISION

It is a belief of all First Nations people that parents are the first teachers of their children. Children are a gift from the Creator and that they are to be cherished and respected in all aspects of their human well-being. The role of being a parent is an important role in this lifetime because as a parent we shape and influence the lives of our children by our daily actions.

Brokenhead Ojibway Nation community is at risk of losing its language and cultural identity. The long-term vision of the E.L.C.C. program is to help preserve and sustain the remains of our language and culture, so that we can revive our culture and heritage of our ancestors. We hope to preserve a cultural identity for all generations to come.

The hope of the E.L.C.C. program is to provide a meaningful program to the children of the community, so that children can have a positive head start in which they can carry throughout their lifetime.

ABOUT

We focus on the parent as the primary caregivers and we are here to assist them. We do this by implementing 6 components. They include:
