We’re excited to share an update on the progress of our land settlement claims.
Test Run Coming Up:
Tomorrow, September 5th, we’ll be doing a small test payment of 1 cent. This is just to make sure everything is working properly before we begin larger payments. You don’t have to do anything, the bank will issue a report that we can review to make sure everything is good to proceed.
First Payments on the Way:
If the test run goes smoothly, we’ll be sending out our first batch of claim payments on September 8th. This is for applications that have all documentation attached and are members according to our Section 10 Membership List.
Claims Completed So Far:
We’ve processed over 900 claims. Thanks to everyone who has submitted their paperwork. A friendly reminder: completed applications must be submitted no later than November 12, 2025. Once your application is complete payment will be issued within 30 business days.
Section 10 Band Members:
Please note that although you have a 261 Treaty Number as we are a Section 10 band, our Membership Code requires you to apply for membership. This application must be completed, signed and submitted before you will be eligible to recieve a disbursement. Please make sure you’ve completed this step. You can find this application online. The deadline for membership applications is September 8, 2025.
