COMMUNITY REFERENDUM RESULTS
- Ballots Cast: 310
- Yes: 129
- No: 181
On behalf of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation (BON), we would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent referendum, and our Council respects the decision and will proceed in the direction provided by our members.
Any proposal to extract resources from our territory must be presented to our membership. This is the expectation of BON for all resource development proponents and is an important step in ensuring our members are meaningfully involved in decision-making. We acknowledge the importance of developing clear, community-driven processes for community engagement and this recent referendum will serve as a foundation from which we can build improved practices, led by the voices of our people.
Meegwetch,
Chief and Council
