The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Health Center is seeking a qualified, compassionate Full Time Family Violence Prevention Worker to fill a key role in supporting families and children, promoting safety, and preventing family violence in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and guidance to individuals and families affected by family violence.
  • Deliver case management services, including intake, assessment, and referral to appropriate supports.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, case notes, and reports.
  • Collaborate with child protection services, community agencies, and other partners.
  • Facilitate support groups and one-on-one sessions.
  • Develop and deliver educational workshops, prevention programs, and community activities.
  • Participate in community events and training related to family violence prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in the helping field.
  • Counseling diploma in social services (or related field) is an asset.
  • Experience working with families and children.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide case management and maintain detailed case notes.
  • Experience facilitating groups and individual sessions.
  • Skilled in developing workshops and community-based activities.
  • Proficient in computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, case management software).
  • Ability to work evenings and some weekends.
  • Adherence to the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Code of Conduct and Ethical Principles of Professional Practice and Code of Conduct.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last three months
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug testing and future random drug testing.
  • Please provide 3 recent employer references with your resume
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle
