Brokenhead Early Leaning Child Care Center is a warm, nurturing early-learning environment committed to providing high quality care and education for children.  We focus on play-based learning, emotional development, and building strong relationships with families.

We are seeking a caring energetic, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our team.  The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging classroom environment and support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons
  • Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
  • Observe and document children’s progress
  • Build positive relationships with children and families
  • Support routines including meals, naps and transitions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive team environment
  • Prepare children for the next level of primary education
  • Follow all licensing regulations and Brokenhead Policies & Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) II certification.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • The ability to speak Ojibway is an asset.

Successful candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing.
