Brokenhead Early Leaning Child Care Center is a warm, nurturing early-learning environment committed to providing high quality care and education for children. We focus on play-based learning, emotional development, and building strong relationships with families.
We are seeking a caring energetic, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging classroom environment and support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons
- Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
- Observe and document children’s progress
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Support routines including meals, naps and transitions
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive team environment
- Prepare children for the next level of primary education
- Follow all licensing regulations and Brokenhead Policies & Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) II certification.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
- The ability to speak Ojibway is an asset.
Successful candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing.
