Brokenhead Ojibway Nation requires a Chief Administration Officer (CAO) to be responsible for the overall planning, coordination and continuous development of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation and its Human Resources, IT, Organization Development, Shared Services and Finance departments. The CAO will ensure the efficient and timely completion of all operation and administrative duties of the assigned departments, through various change management techniques. The Chief Administration Officer is further responsible for ensuring that each department remains compliant with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and internal policies. Other duties may be required.
The CAO will report directly to the Chief & Council.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- University degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Labour Relations, Employment Law and/or Accounting preferred. CHRP designation considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a large organization in progressively more responsible positions.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation an employee base of professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage key relationships, including stakeholders, government agencies, and so on.
- Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles.
- A clear and solid understanding of the issues faced by the BON.
- Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships.
- Sound understanding of risk management.
- Knowledge of personnel policies, practices, and procedures.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Experience creating and managing budgets for a large organization.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
