Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is proud to announce its latest venture in the heart of Winnipeg, taking ownership of 1350 Pembina Hwy after being successful through the City of Winnipeg selection process to developed underused city land announced Monday July 28, 2025 through the Housing Accelerator Fund. This prime location will pave the way for the development of an approximately 144-unit, mixed-income apartment building, with approximately 72 units dedicated to affordable housing.
This significant project will not only address the pressing need for housing but will also contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the neighborhood. Residents of the new development will have access to a range of nearby amenities, including a supermarket, public school, recreational facilities, and high-frequency transit services including to the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg, ideal for students, to ensuring a convenient and enriching living experience.
