Today, Friday, May 8, 2026, Brokenhead Ojibway Nation proudly hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Manitoba First Nations Police Service police station that will be located on Bear Road in our community!

This marks a major milestone for our Nation and an exciting step forward for the future of community safety and policing in Brokenhead. Chief and Council are incredibly proud and thankful to see this important project officially begin!

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Manitoba First Nations Police Service for their continued hard work, dedication, and commitment to protecting and serving our community. After operating out of a temporary unit for the past two years, this new permanent police station represents growth, stability, and a long-term investment in the safety and well-being of our members for generations to come.

Chief and Council would also like to thank all community members, partners, staff, and everyone involved in organizing and attending today’s ceremony. Your support and collaboration are greatly appreciated, and we are excited to see this important project move forward!

Miigwetch to everyone who joined us for this special day and for continuing to support the growth and future of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation!
