Today on Treaty 1, along the Assiniboine, we began The Elswood—an Indigenous-led multi family housing development in Osborne Village. This is a significant, historic moment for Brokenhead Ojibway Nation and our members: a visible step toward safe, affordable homes in the heart of our city, and a clear signal that Indigenous ownership and partnership are shaping Winnipeg’s future.

This milestone is the start, not the finish. From here, we’ll keep building—more homes, more opportunities, more partnerships that turn good intentions into keys in hand. Project by project, we’ll deepen our presence in Winnipeg and continue contributing to a stronger, more inclusive city for everyone.

Miigwech to our partners: Freedhome Developments, Akman Construction, the City of Winnipeg, the provincial and federal governments for their programs and contributions, Farber Real Estate Group for financial assistance, and our BON Development Corp. team for turning vision into action.
