On September 15, 2026, Brokenhead Ojibway Nation gathered to celebrate the Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new Land Based Building – an exciting and meaningful milestone for our Nation and future generations.
This project represents much more than the construction of a new building. It represents an investment in culture, land-based learning, traditional knowledge, youth wellness, and opportunities for our community to learn and grow together on the land.
Breaking ground marks the beginning of turning this vision into a lasting space for our community – one that will support the sharing of knowledge, teachings, culture, and connection to the land for years to come.
Brokenhead Ojibway Nation extends a heartfelt Chi-Miigwech to everyone who has contributed to making this project possible. From the early planning and development stages to the funding, coordination, design, construction, and preparations on the land, many people have dedicated their time, knowledge, skills, and hard work to bringing this vision to life.
We also extend our appreciation to Chief and Council, our staff, project partners, contractors, construction teams, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community members, and everyone involved in supporting this important project.
It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter.
As construction moves forward, we look forward to watching the Land Based Building take shape and, eventually, opening its doors as a place where culture, community, land, and future generations come together.
Chi-Miigwech to everyone who joined us and everyone helping make this vision a reality.
This is an exciting step forward for Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, and we are proud to celebrate it together
