The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation (BON) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Operator – Labourer. Under the general direction of the Public Works Manager, the incumbent will require the knowledge of the operation and maintenance of various heavy equipment machinery. This position will also include landscaping, funeral preparation as well as light maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence; Class 1 or 3 driver’s Licence an asset
- Heavy Equipment Certificate or willing to obtain
- Must be knowledgeable of operating and maintaining heavy equipment
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Mechanical experience an asset
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Physical ability to perform duties
- Must be reliable and dependable
- Must have the ability to coordinate, organize, and work with minimal supervision or as a team player
- Must submit criminal record check and child abuse check
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
