Our Chief and Council hosted its first engagement with our 60+ Elders last evening. Our Elders were excited to have an opportunity to provide input on Chief and Council’s list of 2022-2023 Priorities.
This is the first engagement on Chief and Council’s 2022-2023 Priorities, we will engaging our managers in the coming weeks. After discussions with our Managers we will then meet with our Youth to gather their input prior to advancing to our general band meeting.
Chief BlueSky stated, “We have given special consideration to our 60+ Elders and Youth prior to advancing to a general band meeting to give them the voice so they can identify their priorities that may not be heard otherwise.”
Many Elders we’re grateful for the opportunity to provide input, and they also requested a follow up facilitated engagement to outline their list of priorities. Chief and Council accepted their request and will find the resources required to support a facilitated discussion. It was a great discussion with respectful dialogue, look forward to more community engagements.
