Position Overview
The Business Manager will oversee the operations of a Winnipeg based mixed use operation featuring a motel, well-known family restaurant and lounge franchise, and retail plaza. The role requires strategic leadership, financial management, and operational oversight to ensure profitability, efficiency, and high customer satisfaction. The Business Manager will coordinate with the Motel Manager, Restaurant & Lounge Manager, and Property Manager, ensuring all areas align with organizational objectives.
Duties Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and strategies to reach revenue and profit targets.
- Provide direction to department managers, ensuring operational alignment with company goals.
- Regularly evaluate financial and operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Team Management
- Oversee and support the Motel Manager, Restaurant & Lounge Manager, and Property Manager.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and foster professional development.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration between departments.
Operational Oversight
- Monitor and evaluate daily operations across all business units, ensuring quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager to maintain facilities and coordinate maintenance or improvement projects.
- Oversee procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and vendor management.
Customer Experience
- Ensure all areas deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Partner with the Restaurant & Lounge Manager to implement promotions, events, and seasonal offerings.
- Build strong relationships with retail tenants, fostering a positive business environment.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Approve expenditures and provide regular financial reports to the CEO or Board.
- Identify and implement revenue growth and cost-saving opportunities.
Marketing & Business Development
- Collaborate with department managers to develop marketing strategies for the motel, restaurant, and retail plaza.
- Explore partnerships, sponsorships, and events to drive business growth.
- Oversee the creation and execution of advertising campaigns and promotional initiatives.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or retail sectors.
- Proven success in overseeing multi-unit operations.
