To the people of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation,

Next Monday and Tuesday will be historic occasions for our Nation. On both of these days, we will hold the first reading of our very-own child protection law.

Wii Bimaadizewag Abinoojiiag Act (Our Children Will Live Act)

We are asserting our inherent right of providing care to our children. This law is a step toward self-government, and we need your input. Over the last year your Chief and Council, and the law development team, have worked hard to ensure that this law suits our people.

Your voice is needed and we want to hear from you. You are welcome to join us at the following times and locations:

• Monday, August 7th, 4 pm to 8 pm, Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall, Brokenhead Ojibway Nation
• Tuesday, August 8th,  4 pm to 8 pm, Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Matthews Avenue, Winnipeg

Transportation will be provided; if you need a ride, call 204-904-73 86 or email [email protected]. There will be a buffet dinner at 5 pm on both days, and door prizes will be available too!
